McChristal's fingernail clippings know more than Obama and his band of academic goofballs can ever know about fighting a war and taking care of our men.  General McChristal shouldn't waste his time talking to this two-bit Chicago machine politician whose imperative is to wreck the United States with his criminal band of Alinsky-ites in tow.  They will all have to be jailed when real people can clean DC's corrupt house for the first time in decades.

Every person knows hands-down that McChrystal said exactly what most military personnel know to be true.  I agree with McChrystal 100% and say so, as do most civilized Americans.  Only corrupt MSM carries Obama's water anymore . . . The same weaklings who get shivers up their legs whenever they think of Obama.

Obama is using MSM-perveyed schoolyard bullying to try to shift the blame for his attempts to lose the war onto others.  Omama purposely engineers our men's deaths.  I predict Obama and his band of corrupt academic bandits will eventually be jailed for purposefully killing so many American soldiers and his delivering so many millions of people into the hands of his Islamo-fascist friends.  For every Afgen woman murdered and every gay hung by the Taliban, so should an American Progressive die.

What Obama wanted for the Iraqis, he now tries to deliver to Afganistan.

Obama is no different than Kennedy who killed over two million Vietnamese and Cambodians by his cutting off funds for continuing the Vietnam War, which our brave soldiers were winning.  Kennedy and his Fonda friends used Ho's communist gunmen to do their killing for them, just as Obama is using Moslem gunmen to do his killing for him.

Obama's Kagen-esque Artful Dodge

Kagen's sterling academic credentials notwithstanding, I do not support Kagen appointment to the Supreme Court.  In fact I believe Obama should be censured for advancing her to Supreme Court candidacy.  Kagen's life's work is limited to the narrow quadrant of our corrupt Chicago-DC-NY nexus.  Further, her life experience is circumscribed by academia's mental constructs and by DC's 'central government' environs.

Her knowledge of America outside of this nexus is nil, other than any friends/family who may exist outside her narrow range of experience.  It's a good bet that most of her friends and family share what she'd call her 'refined', and what I'd term, her 'limited, urban, elitist' mindset.  

I submit that she resembles the proverbial 'educated fool', those fools who conform their idealistic notions to an abstract ideal which they then directly apply to what we call reality.  Mankind's history is filled with the acts of the proverbial 'do-gooder' who gets people killed for no good reason.  Kagen's excellence in elitist academia auto-limits her comprehension of 'the outside world'.  The real world.

Kagen's anti-military stance re: the Solomon Amendment disqualifies her, especially as a Supreme Court nominee.  Her gay agenda advocacy toward the US military threatens to reduce our military to the low performance of European armies.  Only in academia or Chicago-land is harming our military an admirable goal.

Granting Kagen her Solicitor General position raised eyebrows since she'd never argued before high courts, which were her duties as Solicitor General.  Never before had a Solicitor General who'd not previously argued before the courts been appointed.  The question is: "Why was SHE appointed?"  How deep is the plan?

Her resume re: practicing law is paper thin.  Kagen's paper trail, just like Obama's, is hidden.  She seems to know what she wants.  The emerging picture of Kagen's approach toward her Supreme Court appointment points toward her enabling Obama's sidestepping or perversion of our law where it blocks his agenda.  An auto-dis-qualifier.  Obama calls it 'transformation'.

Deceptively, Obama advances Kagen over many other qualified candidates as he manipulates the left's default 'gay rights'/'civil rights' mantra as her cover.  Aditionally, he holds feminist attack dogs in abeyance, feminists whose MSM-threatened attack has almost replaced the authority of the courts.  Many potential non-attorney candidates do not fear or distain to speak before the highest courts.  These candidates advocate before the courts because they Respect the Integrity of our legal process.  Not so, Kagen.

Is Kagen a shadow candidate?  A cover for the Progressive left?  Aren't Kagen types the ones who've authored from Academia's Ivory Towers: the rising threat to America's economy, their continuing undermining of America's world position, Obama's encouragement of Iran's Moslem totalitarians/accelerating nuclear proliferation?  Many people see The Academy's solidifying link to US government policy-making as a growing disaster.  Kagen's appointment is integral to this strategy.

More Americans are seeing Obama's deceptive Progressive agendas, Kagen's stealth nomination being an indicator.  Obama keeps a low profile.  There are definite reasons why America approaches Greece's leftist-led crippling debt: ideologues like Kagen being but one reason. By advancing Kagen, Obama mimics Europe's insular leftism: a political-spirit phenomenon whose spectacular failures portend Europe's Awakening from their magic thinking/idealistic notions.  

Kagen shares the insular left's ideological degradation of the Great Variety within The Human Spirit, varieties which make up our world of 'shared human experience'.

Kagen's advancement signals the need for an American voter-powered Resurrection of America.  Progressives' vaunted intelligence is a devolutionary artful dodge when compared to our Founding Fathers' Revolutionary Constitutional Imperatives for The Freedom of The Common Man and Woman.

Sacramento' Mayor's Support for Illegal Immigration by Attack Upon AZ

Mayor Johnson,

I had a nice talk with your phone person the morning you came out w/your sudden "The City of Sacramento Should Boycott AZ" pronouncement.  She was very intelligent and kind.  She asked me to email my comments to you.  I have waited until I calmed down.  Here is the jist of our conversation in letter form:

Mayor Johnson:

Having lived in AZ, I see leftists and Progressives having more lip-service than concept of humanity toward hard-working immigrants, or of a civilized solution to America's illegal immigration problem. You mimic in your 'boycott' call, the left's milking illegal immigration for it's perceived political gain. This problem can't be solved by Democrat office-holders' self-serving screams of: 'Boycott Arizona", yelled from plush offices (which are paid for by The American People whose voices those Democrat office holders' pervert) including you, Mayor Johnson. 

You Know Most Americans Support AZ.  We are Not as stupid as you all believe us to be in your attempt to call out your Progressive base.

We ALL care about immigrants caught between a negligent Mexican government rooted in Europe's early 20th century socialism and Mexican drug cartels' killers. Legal Immigrants Are Outraged at the illegals and their enablers, enablers like you, Mayor Johnson! In blocking our border security the leftists (and this means you, too) functionally support drug cartel murders, drug lawlessness, squalid Mexican conditions in the US, drunken driving deaths/murders committed by Criminal Illegals all across our land.  Not to mention the drugging of our kids.

Until our strong border can differentiate between legal immigrants and criminals, the left functionally hates everyone.  Remember, the coyotes rape the young Mexican women they illegally human traffic into our land.  But, hey, that's OK, they're only Mexicans, according to the left/according to you, Mr. Johnson.

Even in NorCal, over 1,000 mi. from the border, there are far too many serious crimes occurring too regularity by Illegals, even as CA spends 9 billion of our hard-earned dollars a year on public services for illegals. Honest, hard-working illegals do send yet more billions of US dollars South to their families: Out of our economy, Out of our tax structures.  Your 'Boycott AZ' act reflects that the once-great party of JFK now hates the American People.

Imperiously, like the Kings and Queens of Old Europe, rich liberal professionals and crony capitalists create another surf class from their 'cherished' Illegal immigrants, in order to plunder their new surfs for their cheap labor.  Your knee-jerk support for all of this should make you ashamed of yourself, Mayor Johnson.

A far better future for all would be for Mexico to become more like the US, where the Freedom of The Common Man motivates our Constitution.  Considering the resources of Mexico, no earthly reason dictates poverty & helplessness upon The People of Mexico.  But you, Mr, Johnson, seem to support the plunder of The Mexican People.

The riches of Mexico are impounded by the anti-religious socialist government of Mexico, a government co-opted by a few super powerful elites, a mimic of third world socialist lands across the globe.  The hapless Mexican People are caught between their corrupt government and the general response to such a government: large, highly organized criminal gangs of many descriptions; in this case, the various Drug Cartels.

Your stance makes you, Mayor Johnson, an Enemy of The People.  Your image has it that you are more thoughtful than the twin embarrassments, the twin race-hustlers of America: Al Sharpton and Jessie Jackson.  It is my hope that you can have the intelligence to publicly "re-think" the idiotic statements you have made re: AZ's People.  Their law DOES NOT affect YOU.  YOU need to back down from the Democrat's knee-jerk self-service re: 'Boycott AZ'.

You are a hell of a lot smarter and better than all of this!  Step up to your real potential!

Wasting our valuable time on this issue distracts from the screwed up job our entire state governance of California has done.  Get to work on our REAL problems, Sacramento's Real problems.

Open Letter to Obama Before & After His SOTU Speech/Ex-Marxist Comment

President Obama,

I am a classic Democrat and a CA public school teacher. My concern is for my students, and the future of all Californians. For twenty-five years my state has been governed by a gerrymandered legislature until California Democrats took full control California's governance. 

Today California’s government is following the EPA's lead. It’s more concerned with control than protection. As admirable as Democrat career politicians' environmental attitudes are, their actions have led to over-regulation and the overtaxing of people who drive our prosperity, our employers. The result? The destruction of my students' families' standards of living.

This environmentalist-government partnership is denying water to our Great Central Valley, one of the agricultural wonders of theworld. California government working with the federal government’s (EPA) has killed California's single greatest asset, our agricultural production. The 40,000 farm workers thrown out of work see only indifference from the State and Federal governments. Cal-Gov has created the 50th worst regional employment climate in the US. This blend of environmentalist and Democrat Party elected representatives sacrifices California's prosperity, replacing it with Visions of Control (VOC we call it). Understand, Mr. President, Cal-Gov incorporates your economic model for America.

The more I learn about Global Warming, the more I question your support for Al Gore's 'consensus-scientists,' who’s use of misleading data and deception was recently exposed. This in turn has made me question the very idea of global warming. It appears that blanket acceptance of the Global Warming idea and Gore’s 'consensus-scientists' has more than wrecked the Great Central Valley's economy.  It has destroyed the income of families, and destroyed a large part of my state’s tax base. Your support of this crime by scientists inspires environmentalists to do their worst, and bureaucrats and much of the news media tohide facts.

Your vision, appears to be a left-leaning-United Nations-Kingdom of World governance built on harnessing the world's employers, thus diverting billions of American dollars to corrupt UN-supported regimes.

Mr. Obama, your campaign promises hid the fact that your goal is to undermine the very traditional American freedoms thatempower our people. Obamacare, Cap and' Trade and global warming increase government control over Americans and people around the world. Your words have masked your actions.

This solid Democrat is transformed. Myself, my family and my friends are dedicated to work and vote against you, and I promise you I will never vote for another.

Obo and his handlers see America through the optics of Stalin and Mao when they were busy restructuring and rebuilding Russian and Chinese society. Stalin’s massive 3-year and 5-year plans, and Mao’s Great Leap Forward, destroyed millions of humans, changed the geography, and created massive industrial constructions, and changed the way business was done - which is to say business wasn’t done. This was to prove the ability to transform and the efficiency of communism, and to pull their country’s equal with the West. The cost in 10’s of millions of lives, the anguish and agony didn’t matter. All that mattered was building a new world and way, and to achieve their goal for the greater good and the new future. The old way of thinking didn’t matter; hence people of that time didn’t matter. It was better to be rid of them because they remembered the past. The plans were nothing more than human sacrifice, you understand.

A California Art Teacher's Wide-Ranging, On-The-Ground Impressions Re: National & State Democrats' "Change" Model For America:

I speak from the traditional ranks of Democrats as a CA public school teacher.  I'm concerned for my students' future and for that of all Californians.  Governed by a gerrymandered Obama-esque policy legislature for many years has Democrats controlling California who prove to be concerned as PC Visionaries.  Maybe more so than protecting our people's prosperity.  Our career politicians' environmental concerns,  admirable as their intent is, default to over-regulation and overtaxing employers.  Cal-Gov's efforts have eliminated many of my students' families' prosperity.

Ominous is your Enviro-Gov partnership's denying of water to our Great Central Valley, our Agricultural Wonder of the World.  Cal-Gov has generated even more human suffering by it's co-operation with with the feds in crippling California's single greatest asset.  40,000 workers out of work in one fell swoop.  We see almost complete governmental indifference, as Cal-Gov has created the 50th worst employment climate in America, (http://24ahead.com/blog/archives/001018.html).  It seems our would-be Philosopher Kings confuse California's erstwhile Golden Prosperity with their glittery Environmental Visions.

The more we learn about Global Warming, the more we question your unwavering support for Al Gore's Jim Jones-ian consensus-scientists who are caught lying to deceive.  They bully for their Big Global Warming Imperatives.  Our people shoulder more vanities of these devious 'consensus-scientists' whose Environmental Imperatives have wrecked our Great Central Valley's economy.  Your apparent support energizes our Environmental/Governmental/MSM Combine to hide critical views in these areas, a major concern re: deception.

Mr. Obama, economic stressing of employers undoes our citizens' hopes and dreams,  America's sense of well-being.  America's prosperity comes from employers, whatever our station.  Your 'academic populism' leads to actual mass harm to real people out here.  Abstracting these harms is all that surreal post-graduate realms inside your university enclaves can do.  To merely abstract the future of our children is not adequate.

Mr. Obama, by seeking more control of our school curricula, your politicos impede free intellectual inquiry re: Global Warming.  Your preferred world entices our kids to favor pc glitz rather than energizing their excitement of discovery.  Real inquiry shows Democrats' interwoven "Global Warming"/Healthcare/Cap 'n' Trade policies will accentuate unexamined stresses upon our economies.  Derelict Detroit model's your policies.  Implications of these 'Detroit' stresses upon our economy appear beyond your Czars' or MSM's understanding.

Washington's Elite ideologues seem to peer at their friendly mirrored reflections rather than safeguard America's Ship of State.  Our near airliner-catastrophe in Detroit's skies' on Christmas Day exemplifies this danger.  The more DC engorges itself on our cash, the less DC "promotes the general welfare".

Your grand vision as far as we can see is a Progressive UN Kingdom, a kingdom of world governance built upon your envisioned harnessing of the world's employers.  We don't want you to 'transfer' our money and power to UN-sanctioned 'world leaders'.  You indicate your intent by secretly granting Interpol free range inside America w/o the restrictions under which US law enforcement must operate.

Californians' Trusting Good Nature has historically projected our trust onto our legislature.  Instead of honoring our trust, however, our legislature despoils our budget.  Alinsky-like they secret our tax treasure over to ACORN-esgue constituencies.  We are awakening to MSM's inbred deceptions.

As Cal Ed teachers struggle on, we learn the dangers of laboring for inspirational teaching.  CA Dept. of Ed's thought-control often mandates mediocrity and punishes excellence.  California education is devolved to pc adult employment imperatives, protecting our very worst teachers.  Local school boards are now Cal State Board of Ed's rubber stamps.  Divulging Cal Ed's drop from #1 to about #46 nationally is glared upon.  Cal Ed operatives detest the People's feedback.  "But, hey!, it's only our kids."

Art educators/teachers of various political persuasions see academic elitists' closed door efforts to transform Cal Ed into more of a Soviet style command and control Educational Model.  Their goal: Be Answerable to No One.

Mr. Obama, your, 'optimistic' imperatives appear to hide multi-faceted undermining of our Traditional American Freedoms.  Obamacare/Cap 'n' Trade/Global Warming all seek increased governmental controls over We The People: controls whose nature, scope and permanence remain deeply hidden.  Your words say one thing, your actions, something very different, a discernible pattern.

Sensing deception, our once-Demo home is transformed, dedicating ourselves to never vote Democrat again for three generations. This once-proud JFK Democrat is cutting his vein, to 'bleed out the poison', the poison we Americans swallowed when we elected you, Mr. Obama.

Arrogance may prevent your 'whistling in the dark' on an oncoming contemplative walk past my former party's future graveyard.  Your strategists bask in MSM's reverential arrogance.

Jones is nothing but a cleaned up street thug whose extremism made him relatively easy to displace.  The next target is Mark Lloyd and at least 20 more high-profile Obamatrons embedded into our national government.  They all want to kill our economy, destroy our faith in ourselves.  They want to punish America and plunder us in service of their need to cover for/finance the black community's failure to take advantage of education and work. 

Instead of being able to attend to their community-building tasks at hand, black communities have succumed to race-baiting of my former political party, Al Franken, Al Sharpton, et al.   Clearly there's been racism/legitimate problems plaguing the black communities which indeed have held back their progress/prosperity. 

The biggest problem for black communities, however, has been receipt of their multi-faceted gifts from white liberals: Destroyed families, wrecked business/social climate (creating mass poverty), rotten schools (in service of teachers' unions/resulting illiteracy), elevated crime, drug use encouraged by liberals, huge governmental intrusion/controls requiring submission of the people, corrupt governance, high homicide rates.  These are a few of white liberals' gifts to black communities, which are covered up by Democrats whose open MSM appeals to black racism they've  striven to transfer to Republicans, WHO HAVEN'T EVEN GOVERNED THESE CITIES FOR DECADES.  Democrats capitalize upon and entrench ever-continuing failure in these communities!

Detroit is a pristine example of the 'Rise of American Third World City' whose dramatic failures are paid for by American workers in Fort Wayne, Sacramento, Birmingham and Oklahoma City, via corrupt DC.

White liberals are the enemy to the internal elevation of (and building of pride in) the black communities throughout our land.  Everywhere on earth strong communities prosper by the natural sanctity of the family and the intrinsic worth of each individual.  White liberals are perfectly willing to sacrifice as many black children, and adults to advancing their self-serving political power entrenchment schemes as are required to die, have no families/ education/hopes/marketable skills/personal pride/sense of community, or sense of individual self worth.  So much human loss to our fellow black Americans has accrued from these liberal gifts, as to not be catalogueable.  Margaret Sanger's legacy of millions of dead black babies at liberal hands is cheered on.  "For the Children": Obama-speak, er, I mean Clinton-speak,  oh, I mean Orwell-speak.

Black Americans are just as intelligent, capable and able to succeed as the rest of us.  Their communities' leadership has been hijacked and displaced by the likes of Al Sharpton and Jessie Jackson, both of whom stoke MSM's racist underpinnings for their 'success'.  Like any tin pot dictator, they accrue their success by compounding their communities' failures.  They enjoy each new episode of failure (by their own fattened bank accounts) which somehow result from every freshly failed promise.  Failed promises whose disappointments they ever-default to "the evil white man".

Clearly we see race-baiting is big business, amplified by white liberal MSM.  What we don't see: Black Americans get to suffer as party faithful pour blame onto conservatives and Republicans who could actually help these communities grow and prosper by community members' own hands.

Criminal gangs are but one dynamic outcome of white liberals' arguably race-based benign neglect: which translates to self-serving liberals gain of overweening political power using other peoples' money, regardless of the hypocrisy of who suffers.

#1:  Great show!  You've been saying Macy's has lost 4% sales.  In Sacramento, we've noticed that Macy's is the Sacramento Bee's single biggest bank-roller.  Macy's heavy ad buys, saving the Bee, support MSM's message.  I've called Macy's SF headquarters re: bankrolling Sacramento's big deceiver, communicating I won't go to Macy's until they spread their ad buys.  Tersely telling me to go to hell, Macy's continues liberally supporting MSM papers.

As a teacher, I've found the Sac Bee's editors vicious/mean-spirited.  Once a heavy Bee reader (and democrat), I've called the editors re: functional lies in their stories.  Some lies intended, they've condescended to, sworn at and hung up on me several times, proving their love of marxist Kool Aide.

Our Weeklies Are a Way For Sacramento Readers/So Also Is Republican Takeover of Dying Big City Papers:
 
Hugh, our local weeklies print upbeat stories about Sacramentans helping each other (Boy Scouts giving $700 to old folks home); instead of the Bee's hate-based offerings.  Even most liberals are bored w/the Bee.  All of our local weeklies are flourishing, even having little/no on-line presence, because weeklies give readers positive stories and a forum for peoples' ideas.  Their circulations grow as Bee's circulation shrinks.

These weeklies are: The American River Messenger, The Sacramento Union, The Carmichael Times, The Rancho Cordova Grapevine, The Auburn Journal, The Arden-Carmichael News and many others near and far.  The Carmichael Times, dead a year ago, now flourishes and new weeklies are popping up.

I'm telling you, Hugh, that this is a Micro-Model for What the Conservatives Can Do Nationally: namely, buy up liberal-crashed papers and innovate them into community assets that All citizens value!  MSM"s tiresome hatred of conservatives can give way to massive innovation surpassing MSM's timeworn 60's-era business/editorial models.  Numerous dying dailies provide unparalleled opportunity, at long last, to print Conservative messaging.

#2:  We need you to help Fox realize the value of buying up the Bee's carcass.  Knowledgeable people say Bee editors are in their dying daze.  We need Fox to Come to the Capitol of The ONCE 4th Greatest Economy on Earth.  A capitol run by insular gerry-mandered demos for 15 years.  We need Fox to buy this dying cancer and a local TV station.  Fox's spotlight would breach the MSM/Democrat alliance.  The resulting battle re: America's Spirit would electrify people, profiting Fox's influence.

My former party has taxed to death or run out Many Thousands of California's Businesses/Jobs overseas/across the American West.  I've talked to many business owners who've left just to survive (month's worth of interviews right there).  The repubs sit in silence as demos destroyed our prosperity, killing the goose that laid the golden egg!  When are we going to start talking?  Never in MSM.  We have no voice.  I have written some on this.

I'll send my thoughts if you want.  Since every person on the street agrees this is an opportunity!

#3:  ***The big hidden economic story is that California's democrats are Purposefully destroying California's economy.   Now the whole American economy is in peril under their influence.  My former party WANTS to destroy the economy so They can take it over!  This is classic Alinsky.  Hating the freedom we once had, they want control over all of us, whether we be business owner, citizen or worker, and all of our families***

Mark my words!, as a teacher in Ca. I've painfully learned they intend to destroy our economy just as they're wrecking Cal Ed.  In an earlier incarnation, liberals tried to Fix our economic woes.  "Covered" by MSM, they now want to Wreck it, to wreck America.  You, Medved, Prager, Levin and Savage have aided Rush's efforts to illuminate MSM's Alinsky treason.

Obama's just the smoother talker that any con man must be in order to get your natural greed up so he can sell you out using your own greed.  The con man must be your friend.  That's the rule. In the politically criminal world of Chicago machine politics (where the dead have always voted), it would take the smoothest of the smooth talkers and agile shape-shifting promisers to rise up within it, without being shut down.

Obama and the American left which so blindly supports him are political cousins to the marxists who murdered so many more millions of people than did Hitler that comparatively, Hitler looks the bungling kid.  Notice who Never, Never criticsizes Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot or Ho Chi Minh.  It's the left and their friends in the media and the universities who lionize these mass-murderers, no matter how many millions of human beings had to die in service to the universities' friends' marxist god.

As a one-time leftist, I have found my road to my Real Education blocked as much as possible by the same people who blindly back Obama now.  The 'change' they keep hyping may be they worst thing possible for America.  I remember that Hitler was the 'savior' of the German people in 1933.  None of my university professors ever, remotely told of the unimaginable horrors under which all those 'other people' got to exist, before they were mass-murdered by their marxist state-sponsored mass-murdering communist controllers.

I'm not saying that Obama has this in mind, but he is, and his supporters are, the political cousins of those who unapologetically committed these massive human rights crimes "for the good of the people".

People may not want to remember the fact that under the Clintons, at Waco, America joined other nations of the world which have murdered an entire religious community destroying their homes, just like the Soviets and Maoists communists did in greater numbers.  The Clintons conspired with Castro to take Elian Gonzales away from his rescuing family in Florida (his mother's last wish), and return him to pc Cuba where his father (still not yet escaped), was held under guard by Castro's gunmen and allowed to come to Florida to pick up his son (under heavy guard, guards who threatened him to keep his mouth shut) according to witnesses of the father's "interview" by compliant US journalists.

Anyone who likes the horrific governmental wastelands of Chicago, Detroit and Cleveland (where teens recently videoed their beating to death of a helpless homeless man, w/passersby NOT helping), Obama is your man.  I'm speaking here of the overall culture of Cleveland under it's governments of the last 40 years, precursors and progenitors of Obama.  The degeneration of these three cities taking up billions of dollars from the rest of our nation, all to no avail.  Their problems remain dynamically unsolved under Obama-type city governments.

John Stossel's drug legalization magic thinking

Mr. Stossel, on your exclaiming to legalize drugs:

I disagree, partly or even mostly.  I see two vastly different views before me in this thread; one a straight talking person w/strong personal connection w/the drug problem re: his childhood w/his mom on drugs, the other, a political/emotional stance person being a bit self-righteously shallow re: the destruction of other people's children.

As a teacher here in Sac. Ca. having worked in rough schools, I strongly disagree with the impetus of Stossel's remarks.  I've seen great kids go down by the tens each year in our high school.  The adults you reference, yes can make a slightly better set of choices in this area, but the vague-ness of your concept doesn't seem to notice or care that the kids will merge in with this chaos-ridden "adult" diversion which will-go-devilish w/unguided kids.  A great young man I ran across in a bank spoke of the "gift" our local school system gave his family (in addition to not educating his sibkings); his sister got addicted to hard drugs within the school system, under the tuteledge of the rough high school's primitiveness guided by permissive imperatives.. 

Stossel is full of it on this part of the issue, which is hopefully because he has no idea of the pure roughness of it all; and how far, how fast and how permanently drugs can do their thing.  But, hey it's only other people's kids, right?  He is right, though, on the drug war not achieving the desired goal, in fact, totally unintended results.  I would suggest he attend narcaholics' anonymous meetings a few times to see the heroics required to even begin to handle these addictions.  Or talk to sports docs who are paid monster bucks to get big athletes off these drugs, when it can be done.

Since we can't go the way of the Euro-weaklings who won't have their countries much longer because of that very impulse (legalize everything where there is contention); we must act differently, hunting for effectiveness.  I'd suggest a mix of more involved police, fathers, teachers, Boy Scouts, Church groups, et al with the youth of America.  Since the teachers unions would refuse any useful change and the school system's job is to screw up education wherever they find it, they won't help and would also fight the Boy Scouts or Church groups helping the kids, especially at "their" schools.  The dems would scream and hollor that the kids were being hurt by the help they might be getting.  P.C. feminist activists would demonize fathers or males in general as bad influences.  So much for civilized methods.

Among other possibilities is the enforced quick death of drug gangs/their leaders.  After a few thousand of them were just plain killed, possibly some of the affected communities (that haven't been slow motion destroyed these last few decades) may be able to come together and save their remaining most precious possessions, their children.  It's gone past he time when hopefully smiling, over-optimistic citizens can just throw more money at boondoggling school systems in the hope that someone else can fix their problems.
